Drake Bay
Today was our last long drive of the trip from the top of the mountains at 6 C when we left at 7am to the humid coast at 32C at 10.30am. The drive down had some scary truck moments and the car’s brakes sounded increasingly knackered, so it was a relief to hand it back at Sierpe.

The boat zoomed down the river but sadly we didn’t spot any crocodiles.
It did a quick surf over the waves at the river mouth which was mildly scary but was obviously perfectly normal!
We had a ‘wet landing’ on the beach which was especially wet for Rusty teehee.

It is a very small eco-luxury hotel and there are only 3 other guests here - my idea of bliss!
We have an early dinner this evening and are then off for a bug walk in the dark (thoroughly covered in bug spray!)
We then experienced the fun and games of the boat taxi service to Drake Bay. A seemingly chaotic process but amazingly we ended up in the correct boat with our luggage.

Tranquilo Lodge is nestled in the jungle up in the hills above the bay and has stunning views.

One of them is called ‘Happy’....
