Tenorio National Park

After a better night’s sleep and another fantastic fruity breakfast, I was ready for a bit of exercise. Fortunately I hadn’t anticipated a hard hike as my companions were a very charming but somewhat doddery couple on a guided walk in the rainforest.
We set off at 8am before the crowds arrived so could really appreciate the peaceful, eerie rainforest.

The guide spotted all the creatures that I would have been oblivious to, some less friendly than others

This vine snake is allegedly harmless

But the venom from this eyelash viper would kill a human within three hours (photo taken with zoom!)

The walk took us to the turquoise Rio Celeste and where the rivers join and change colour

Another day, another spectacular waterfall..

The rest of the day was spent in the very relaxing hotel doing a lot of not a lot.
