San Jose to Rio Celeste

I was wide awake at 5am and very hungry so breakfast was a priority. The fresh fruit was the best I’ve had for a long time.
We then set off for a walk to the waterfalls. It was already very hot with lots of steps so Rusty decided to leave me to it, hence the dodgy waterfall selfie...

All of this was in the hotel grounds

The hire car/tank was delivered at 10 and we set off on a 3 hour drive north to Rio Celeste. Lunch was in a roadside restaurant with sea bass or sea bass as the fish choice - I think I’m going to like the food here!
It was 34c as we drove through the Central Valley but fortunately cooled down as we headed up into the rainforest. The hotel is hidden away in the middle of the rainforest next to the Tenorio Volcano National Park so very beautiful but rather dark and soggy.
We did a short, steamy walk to the Rio Celeste which is famous for being turquoise.

Hubby dearest really loves being dragged on these adventures...
